Global Mission Moment- by Rev. Adora Lee

As a Global Mission Church, we know that “Mission Matters”! What we do as believers to promote a world that mirrors the love of Jesus Christ is how we live out our mission. With so many critical needs in the world today live poverty, hunger, human rights violations, homophobia, gender inequality, displacement caused by war and so much more, there is a lot that people of faith can do.
While our numbers may be small, our voices are not. We have expressed our concern for food insecurity and huger in postcards sent to Congress. We have supported our unemployed Native American brothers and sisters in North Dakota with gloves, blankets and scarves last winter. We have welcomed missionaries from Haiti and Ghana to share their journeys with us. And we have prepared sandwiches to feed the homeless who live right here in Washington DC.
As we approach 2018, let’s pray about the new areas of mission God is calling Lincoln Temple to focus on in the coming year.

“Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God”-William Carey, who is called the father of modern missions.
