Rev. Dr. Rubin Tendai
Rev. Tendai is a certified Intentional Interim Minister and a member of the Intentional Interim Ministry Network. Prior to his present position at Lincoln Temple, he has served as Interim Minister at Peoples Congregational Church and Plymouth Congregational Church in Washington D.C. He was also a Senior Minister at Grace Congregational Church of Harlem in New York City and at Faith Congregational Church in Hartford, CT. As an intentional interim minister, Rev. Tendai leads the church through a series of developmental tasks in preparation for the arrival of the new minister.
While an undergraduate student in journalism at Temple University he served as a communications director for the local branch of Operation P.U.S.H. As a seminary student at Howard University he served as a civil rights intern for the United Church of Christ. Rev. Tendai earned a Master of Sacred Theology Degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from New York Theological Seminary. He is a former chaplain of the United States Air Force.
